Dr. Paul Graf and our team are passionate about caring for the patients who visit our dental office in Spring, Texas, and we are always honest with our patients about the care they need for great oral health. Because we know that money can be tight at times, we accept numerous dental insurances and other payment options so you can receive the treatments you need for a healthy smile.
There are two major types of insurances: PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) and HMO (Health Maintenance Organization). To understand paying for dental services, it is best if you understand the differences between these insurances. Some aspects of PPO insurances include the following:
- You do not need to designate a primary care physician/dentist
- You do not need to have a referral
- You can have your care filed by an out-of-network physician/dentist
- You will need to file an insurance claim
- You may have to pay a higher price for this insurance
HMO insurance plans, in contrast, essentially have the opposite aspects of PPO insurances. You will need to designate a primary care physician/dentist, you will need a referral, you will not need to file a claim, etc. Another important aspect of insurances to remember is whether a service is covered. A covered benefit is a treatment that insurance will pay for. An optional treatment is an alternative procedure suggested by a physician/dentist, and whether insurance pays for this or not depends on the plan you use.
At Houston Cosmetic & Family Dental Associates, we are in network with over 70 insurance providers, including:
- Delta Dental
- United Medical Resources
- United Concordia
We are always willing to file claims with insurances plans that our office is not in network with. Our dentist also accepts other payment options of CareCredit, cash, checks, and credit cards. Call our team at 281-580-8848 for a full list of our insurances options.
